Easycap Usb 20 Driver Dc60
Hi, For the easycapdc60 driver at Sourceforge the 'slow audio USB' problem was solved back in June: The current version 0.8.3 of the driver is capable of delivering sound as well as video for all EasyCAPs which have USB ID 05e1:0408, provided the Linux distribution includes an OSS package or a means of emulating OSS. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS meets this criterion, but as far as I know Ubuntu 10.10 does not: If you cannot see /dev/dsp on your system, the easycapdc60 driver and its test scripts will not deliver audio. I should mention in passing that the Syntek EasyCAP with USB ID 05e1:0408 is not the only type of EasyCAP. There also exists the Empia type, which has USB ID eb1a:2861 and is supported by the em28xx driver included in recent kernels. The Empia EasyCAPs have been known to be silent, but (although I haven't tried it myself) I believe there is a simple cure: Mike. Download film taiyou no uta 720p hd.

I can confirm that my device id is 05e1:0408. I'm running Xubuntu 10.04 and I tried to install OSS following some guides, but then I realized that my onboard audio is not supported,so I reinstalled ALSA.

Is there any way to use ALSA instead of OSS? What do you mean with 'emulating OSS'? Hi, I'm rather vague about Linux audio, so any advice I venture on this should be regarded as very tentative. I have no experience of Xubuntu, so if this is an xfce-vs-Gnome issue I wouldn't have encountered it myself.
I have run Ubuntu 10.04 on several different machines here and (if I remember correctly) the driver gives problem-free audio on all of them, with various EasyCAPs, without the need for any special effort. In fact, the output of the command `aptitude search oss` reveals that I have no extra OSS-related packages installed except for one associated with sox, which is not required for most uses of the driver. Tried VLC as suggested and it never seems to start recording as my PC never hits the hard disk. In addition, when I press 'Play' it gives a message about the playlist being empty.
Well, made the mencoder line a shell script so I wouldn't have to keep messing with it. Also realized that after a reboot the kernel module wasn't getting reloaded, so will be adding that to modules file. When I run the mencode shell script it goes through the initialization and then starts skipping frames - apparently ALL frames. I don't know how to stop the thing so I did a cntrl-z. Saw output file length was 0. Killed the process - output file length still 0.
